One of the huge reasons we prefer a glass bong over any other is the glass bowl. With a glass bowl you are able to conserve the flavor of what you are smoking. Metal bowls just don't do this. Also with most types of bongs, even some glass, you need a grommet to keep your bowl air tight. With a glass bong, or what is known as a "glass on glass" bong, the bowl fits into the down stem of the bong precisely so there is no need for a grommet. This makes a great seal and the air flow of a glass bong like this is amazing. Glass bongs are more expensive than other types of bongs, but we would say the money spent on a glass bong is well worth it. The only true downside to a glass bong is it is breakable. Shopping for a new one is always fun though.
Glass bongs are sold in head shops or tobacco shops, both commonly known as "Smoke Shops." The price of a glass bong varies greatly but usually you can find one as low as 40 dollars. The glass on glass bong would run you more in the price range of 120-140 dollars. A glass bong can often time be a piece of art work. Many such glass bongs would go for 350-500 dollars and up. Sizes of bongs also vary greatly, from as short as 6 inches, to 6 feet tall. It is very common to see a glass bong in the shape of Marge Simpson, or a naked lady. Many times you will see the bongs in the shape of crazy sea creatures, or just creatures period. The colors of glass bongs are beautiful, and tantalizing to the eye. Long story short, hands down, we'll take a glass bong any day.
